The existing house

An eighteenth-century stone farmhouse among olive groves, altered many times over the years. The aim was to restore its clarity rather than reinvent it.

The intervention

Later additions were removed, the original openings reinstated and the stone walls repointed with lime mortar. New elements — steel windows, oak joinery, a discreet kitchen wing — are kept simple and clearly contemporary.

Climbing roses, lavender and the old terraces were preserved, so that the garden still reads as part of the house.
